Turning the page of life....

This week is my birthday week and I've been wondering was I asleep these past 60 years. As we send our 4th child off to University in August. John and I will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary on August 30th. We are in the process of purchasing our retirement home and need to sell off the BIG house. I look in the mirror and wonder who is that lady looking back at me. She can't possibly be me. So many memories and I'm wishing for many more. This is a picture of the storybook home that my sweet husband and I hope to spend many sweet moments together.  

What happened to me in 2008?

I wish at times I could stop time.  I've been a horrible blogger friend.  This year I'm going to try to smell the roses more often. 

So what do I do with myself each day.  I don't work outside of the home however I like to joke that I'm the executive vice-president of our home.  I keep busy with our dog, Jennie, house and family.  Jennie tore her ACL in her knee on Thanksgiving day and needed surgery.  The surgeon told us it would heal by

 Valentine's Day.  Watching Jennie suffer has been difficult for all of us.  My mom is 91 and needs lots of TLC.  She also has issues that need to be resolved in 2009.  Our son Daniel now in his senior year is about to be launched and believe me this is tougher on me than him.  I've been involved with PTA for the past 12 years at the unit level and this year at the council level.  I'm wondering where 2009 will lead me.  My New Year's resolution this year is to have more fun.  Now who would like to join me?
